According to Flexa Careers’ Flexible Working Index, employers were scrambling to meet this demand as 84% of new vacancies posted on the site were fully remote.

She said: “Ways of working are constantly evolving, and calls for flexibility in different forms have grown exponentially over the past couple of years.
“This means it can be hard for companies to keep up and attract the masses of talent who want to work flexibly.”
Demand for part-time roles has been consistently high.
Between January and July this year, people’s preference for part-time roles rose by 257%.
Demand for compressed hours fell by 20% in July compared with June.
Coinciding with the start of the UK’s four-day week trial in June, there was also a 14% spike in preference for a shorter working week compared with May.
The Flexible Working Index for July 2022, the first reported, was based on a sample of 36,457 user searches, 1,834 users’ preferences as expressed when signing up to the platform, and 916 job posts.
