The latest episode of the HR Most Influential podcast is now available to stream and download

Series 4 of the HR Most Influential Podcast has landed, starring KPMG's James Devine.

Devine, this year's highest ranking HR Most Influential practitioner, currently heads up KPMG UK's healthcare and workforce practice. He is one of the rare examples of HR professionals who made the progression from CPO to CEO.

In this latest podcast episode 'The Future of HR (is Giving Transactional Work the Boot)', Devine talks with HR magazine's editor to explore what the profession needs to fulfil its potential as a high-impact strategic function.

Freeing up HR professionals' time from labouring on resource-intensive transactional work is key, Devine argues. He adds that technological solutions, like AI-powered HR systems, give people professionals time to think about long-term issues.

In the podcast, he discusses:

  • Why transactional work is weighing HR down
  • What HR innovations give him hope for the future, and
  • HR resolutions to make for 2025.
