HRMI 2022: Paul Beesley, director and senior consultant, Beyond Theory

Paul Beesley created Beyond Theory in 2012 with the vision and purpose to help small and medium size businesses grow through meaningful and practical people development.

The company was founded on the principles that work is a force for good and that employee engagement delivers the very best customer service. Acknowledging that leadership is a key driver of engagement, Beyond Theory delivers a comprehensive mix of training programmes focusing on leadership & management, employee engagement and customer excellence.

Beyond Theory has been quality assured by the ILM since 2014.

Outside of Beyond Theory, Beesley plays an active role with Engage for Success (EfS). He is a member of the EfS steering group guiding other volunteers in key areas of research and thought leadership. He also leads an EfS research group who are examining the engagement issues experienced by agency and other contingency workers.

Prior to creating his own company, Beesley had a successful career in the public sector, retail and financial services. His last corporate role was that of senior manager, people strategy & insight at Nationwide Building Society.

He successfully chaired the CIPD Northamptonshire Branch for six years, transforming the events programme and introducing many other initiatives.
