Winners of HR magazine and Roffey Park research competition announced

The winners of the HR magazine and Roffey Park research competition have been announced.

The competition gave practitioners and academics working in the fields of leadership, organisational development, and strategic HR the opportunity to get their work published and win a cash prize.

The winners are as follows:

  • Winner: Stuart Pritchard
  • Runner up: Jeff Rodrigues
  • Joint third: Jane Yarnall and Russell Brooks
  • Highly commended: Sue Gammon

Pritchard’s piece, which explored the science of motivation beyond Maslow, will be published in the July issue of HR magazine.

Roffey Park director of research, practice and qualifications Andy Smith said: “Our aim was to showcase innovative thinking or new perspectives on established ways of working, and our winners’ papers delivered this.

“We were particularly encouraged that many of these entries came from practitioners, demonstrating the ground-breaking work taking place across organisations on a daily basis.”

HR magazine editor Katie Jacobs added: “The quality of the entries in this competition was pleasingly high. Seeing the work practitioners are doing in their own organisations to push the boundaries of people management day-to-day was particularly impressive.”

Roffey Park will be publishing the winning papers on its website. The competition will run again in 2016.
