HR directors in the private sector have been busy helping organisations transition from a period of containment to one of growth, while those in the public sector continue to do more with less.
Our 2014 shortlist comprises HRDs who have helped their boards navigate through difficult financial times. They have taken brave decisions when reorganising HR delivery to generate huge cost savings and better service provision or have developed and implemented frameworks to reverse declining engagement and reduce employee attrition. Many have helped companies attract and retain the brightest talent in an increasingly candidate-driven recruitment market.
They have also been at the forefront of creating working environments that encourage diversity; help young people develop skills through apprenticeships, and manage multiple generations of workers.
Each of the HRDs on our shortlist has shone in their industry sectors and each has demonstrated excellence in HR. We congratulate them on making the shortlist. Find out more about each HRD by clicking their name below.
