Fitness First staff offered 'BioAge' tests

Employees at Fitness First are to have their biological age tested as part of a campaign to increase health and wellbeing among its workforce.

The testing will be conducted using technology introduced at the company’s gyms to improve fitness training for customers. It uses indicators such as blood pressure and heart rate to compare people’s chronological age to their biological age.

Fitness First HR director Neil Tune told HR magazine that the company wants their workforce to reflect the business’s healthy image. He also sees a focus on wellbeing as a strategy to improve engagement.

“If people are physically healthier they are more productive and also more in tune with the business,” he said. “People do seem to have taken the findings onboard.”
