In her new role, Astill will report to Argos managing director, John Walden, and be a member of the Argos executive team.
She joined Argos in 2003 and has held a number of HR roles for Home Retail Group. Astill, who started her new role last month, replaced the previous Argos HRD, Andrew Bush, who left the business on 11 May.
Rebecca Woodmansee has succeeded Astill in her former role as HRD at retailer Homebase. She joined the business in 2008, and will report to Homebase managing director Paul Loft as a member of the Homebase executive team.
Her previous role was head of people and organisation development for Home Retail Group and prior to this, she was colleague solutions manager in its HR operation.
