Evans will replace Orlagh Hunt and she commences her role immediately.
She joined RSA in 2005 and has worked in a variety of roles across the group, including HR business partner director for UK claims and business services, HRD for emerging markets and UK HRD.
Prior to joining RSA, Evans held positions as global retail HR director at Lego and head of HR for Gap, the international retailer.
She said: "Over the past six years, I have had the pleasure of working across most areas of RSA with some fantastic people and I am looking forward to the challenges that my new role will bring."
