From 2021 into 2022 Pointer created and led the company’s people strategy, including the integration work required by the business’s acquisition; its growth & expansion into new markets; and global leadership development. Â
He has championed the company’s diversity, equity & inclusion programme; its Covid-19 response supporting employees across 30 markets; and a mental health employee assistance provision.Â
Pointer joined CAA-GBG in June 2018 from Dixons Carphone, where he was HR director of the connected world services division, working between offices in Kansas and London. Â
Previously he was chief people officer of Pentland (Lacoste; Ted Baker; Speedo); and held regional HR director roles at Diesel (EMEA), and liquor joint-venture Maxxium (Asia-Pacific) when he lived and worked in Sydney, Australia, for 5 years.Â
Pointer is a chartered fellow of the CIPD and has mentored in the CIPD’s Aspiring HRD programme since 2015. He co-founded the Business Culture Community in 2016 and has been heard on the ‘That HR Podcast’ since 2018. Â
He is an FA-qualified football coach and can be found on the touchline directing his St Albans City Youth team most Sunday mornings.Â
