HRMI 2022: Michelle Reid, people and operations director, Institute of Occupational Medicine

After leaving school at 16, Reid has gained over 25 years’ experience as an HR generalist within retail, hospitality, and consultancy.

Reid joined the Institute of Occupational Medicine (IOM) at the start of 2018 as HR manager and within two years was promoted to people and operations director, where she leads not only the people function but also business support, marketing, facilities, operational governance and the workplace protection consultancy team.   

As a member of the board of management at IOM, she works in partnership with business leaders and teams to drive transformational change; a values driven coaching culture; positive employee engagement; leadership and talent development, and effective and profitable systems of work and internal communications.  

Her ultimate purpose is to unleash the value of people to realise commercial success.
