Tilney Bestinvest appoints new HR director

Investment advisory group Tilney Bestinvest has appointed Suki Copeland as HR director.

The separate advisory groups Tilney and Bestinvest merged in August last year to create one group. This has resulted in the creation of Copeland’s new role of group human resources director, a role designed to ensure a successful “one team” approach.

Copeland said she aims to grow the business and develop its leadership team while retaining and developing the talent the business already has, so it can “continue to grow new business and deliver excellent client service”.

Tilney Bestinvest chief executive Peter Hall said: “Suki joins the business as it embarks on an exciting phase of expansion, with our joint venture with Saga set to launch later this year.”

“Her expertise and ability to devise and deliver industry leading HR strategies will be invaluable, and will help us achieve our goal of recruiting and retaining the best talent in the industry.”

Copeland was previously group head of HR and development at UK investment management firm Charles Stanley, where she led the HR function for four years.

Copeland has also been head of HR at Liberty Mutual Insurance Europe, Herbert Smith and Allen & Overy.
