Shotbolt takes up the position as a director on the LA Fitness operating board following seven years as UK HRD at catering provider Select Service Partners.
Working from the group's Doncaster HQ, she will be responsible for more than 4,500 LA Fitness employees across more than 80 gyms. She said: "This industry has a reputation for a quick-churn, hire-and-fire mentality. The impression to the outside world is that gym chains don't care about their people or their members. LA Fitness is investing millions of pounds refurbishing its gyms and introducing innovative, new initiatives for members. This investment is now being mirrored in our new employee development, training and recognition programmes."
