Prior to working at BPHA, Corbyn held HR roles at Tesco, AMP Financial Services and CHS Group.
Her key professional skills include heading organisational change and providing strategic leadership in human resource development. She is also known for being a driving force behind developing high-performance cultures in previous roles.
Corbyn told HR magazine she was attracted to Ridgeons because it's a company that "lives up to its values" while remaining commercially focused.
"It's a company that's very ambitious, but through its people and not at the expense of them," she said. "I wasn't actively looking for a new role as I was happy at BPHA. But the opportunity of a fresh challenge, combined with the board and family dynamic, made it too good an opportunity to turn down."
Harnessing the "great level of talent and passion" within the organisation is a key goal for Corbyn, as is making sure talent is managed throughout all layers of the business.
"We've got forklift drivers all the way to a managing director here," she said. "So there's clearly a great level of diversity in age and skills. It's really important to make sure people from the top down are engaged."
Ridgeons' managing director Angela Rushforth added: "We believe that the experience Ann will bring to the group will help us to grow and develop our people, while continuing to deliver the high standards that our customers expect."
