Previously at glass technology firm Nippon Sheet Glass, McLellan brings with him a wealth of experience, having held senior roles in China, Canada and Japan, as well as in the UK.
At NG Bailey he will assume overall responsibility for all of the group's HR functions. He is to sit on the group's operating executive team and report directly to chief executive David Hurcomb.
Speaking about his new role, McLellan said: "NG Bailey is a leader in its field with a fantastic reputation. It is industry-leading from a HR point of view and it is renowned for its commitment to training and development, investing significantly in this area - this is something which I will preserve."
