BT's offers its HR expertise through new Sustainable Workforce Assessment service

BT has launched a new service to help large organisations improve staff morale and reduce HR costs.

The Sustainable Workforce Assessment will engage with large corporates and public- sector organisations on HR issues such as workforce costs, financial targets, skills enhancement, employee engagement, talent management and retention.

The assessment is based on employee work-life balance, stress and metal health, disability, cultural background, age, parents and carers, and dignity at work. Following the initial assessment, BT will help the organisation reduce costs and improve employee welfare.

Employers will be encouraged to harness the benefits of technology to promote flexible working and e-learning to enable better work-life balance and reduce carbon emissions,

BT has won several accolades for its flexible working practices and diversity initiatives, including being recognised as a Top Employer for working families. It has also been rated the UK's most race-friendly employer by Race for Opportunity, so the organisation feels it is best placed to help other HR departments achieve business success through similar practices.

Dinah McLeod, head of sustainability practice at BT Global Services, said: "We have been credited for the successful outcomes of our HR practices around the world, including home-working, increasing average productivity, stress and mental health to controlling absenteeism.

"These credits put us in the right position to advise organisations on how to deal with people issues in tough economic times."
