Editor's comment: Pro-change HR, we're following your lead

"Being effective in HR requires the courage to embrace change and try new things," says HR magazine's editor

Change, they say, is the one constant, in business and in life. And it’s an area that HR leaders, as transformation specialists, are well used to navigating and thriving within.

You seem a fearless lot, you ever-impressive change makers and culture shifters, energised by organisational refreshment and renewal. I certainly got that sense when interviewing this edition’s ‘Future leader’, who enthused that she’s more than good with change, and being outside of her comfort zone.

“What makes [the job] exciting is that there’s always room to challenge, test new ideas and shape things,” she explained. “You’re always rapidly moving.”

Being effective in HR requires adaptability, and the courage to embrace change and try new things. It’s the theme of our cover story, which focuses on the changing ways in which leaders are supporting employees to learn and develop their skills at work. And it’s a narrative that recurs throughout these pages: adapting HR practice over a 40-year-strong HR career, how to effectively pivot amid changing laws and regulations, and more, and more, and more.

In the spirit of change, we’ve refreshed our magazine design too. Special thanks to Laura Tallon and Heather Woodley for their hard work on this. We hope you enjoy the new look, and the refreshed content.
