HRMI 2022: Jon Dawson, group director of people development, Lore Group 

Jon Dawson was appointed Lore Group’s director of people & development in September 2020, having joined the international hospitality company from Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park London and One Hyde Park Residences where he was director of HR. 

Dawson is accountable for the development and delivery of Lore Group’s global people strategy for their design led hotels which operate in the UK, Europe, and United States.  

He provides senior strategic leadership on Lore’s full range of people initiatives as the company continues to grow and develop internationally. 

As a passionate ambassador for the hospitality industry, Dawson is a board member for the UK’s Fair Tip Share body, a committee member for HR in Hospitality and an honorary Executive in Residence for Sheffield Hallam University Business School. 

Dawson started his career at Marriott International, and he opened The St Pancras Renaissance Hotel, London, as the director of HR before going on in 2013 to become part of the team that created the new luxury lifestyle brand Edition. 

 As the director of employee experience for the London property, Dawson held a wider strategic role alongside the global brand team to drive new people initiatives across the openings of the Miami Beach and New York Edition properties.
