Working Families Awards open today

Employers will be able to enter a variety of categories, such as Best Flexible Working Initiative and Best for Carers and Eldercare

Working Families’ flexible working awards for employers developing engaged and high-performing workforces open for entries today.

Now in their eighth year, the Special Awards showcase and celebrate employers’ work/life balance and flexible working policies and practices. Making the shortlist for a Special Award recognises that the organisation demonstrates best practice, innovation and sustainability and marks out winners as leaders in their field.

Employers will be able to apply to the following categories:

  • The Direct Line Group Best for Embedded Flexibility Award
  • The Best Flexible Working Initiative Award
  • The Best for Flexible Recruitment Award
  • The Centrica Best for Modern Families Award
  • The Carers UK Best for Carers and Eldercare Award
  • The Best for All Stages of Motherhood Award
  • The Best for All Stages of Fatherhood Award
  • The Allen & Overy Best for Innovation Award
  • The Best for Line Manager Engagement Award
  • The Best Large Private Sector Employer Award
  • The Best Small Employer Award
  • The Best Public Sector Employer Award
  • The Best Third Sector Employer Award

  • Sarah Jackson, chief executive of Working Families, explained the impact of the awards.

    “Working Families is calling for employers everywhere to tell us about the great work going on across the UK in developing flexible, family-friendly and agile workplaces,” she said. “As well as recognising the winning organisations, the awards help Working Families to spread the word and share good practice and inspiring new ideas. The judging panel looks forward to reading this year’s entries.”
