Two thirds of UK workers claim their working hours are too long

Almost two thirds of UK workers work more than 40 hours a week, with 34% doing more than 50 hours each week. Both groups feel they work too long.

According to a report from Monster, 22% of workers stated that they were happy to work overtime in order to further their careers, but only a dismal 18% work a 35-hour week or less.

The survey of 2,201 workers throughout the UK also found only 12% said they were happy with their hours since they work part-time or 9 to 5. But 22% claim they are ambitious and happy to work overtime in order to develop their career.
