Strathclyde Police's diversity drive harnesses the power of the force by recruiting 10 Jedi knights

Strathclyde Police has recruited 10 members of the Jedi religion as part of a diversity drive.

The organisation did not set out to recruit the followers of The Force, but a recent staff survey under freedom of information requests, found eight police officers and two civilian staff were some of the 400,000 UK Jedi knights in the UK.

A spokeswoman from Strathclyde Police told HR magazine: "Strathclyde Police recognises the benefits of having a workforce that reflects the diversity of backgrounds, cultures and beliefs within the communities that we serve.

Strathclyde Police monitors equality and diversity across the six strands of diversity, which are age, disability, gender, race, religion and belief and sexual orientation, to ensure that employment practices are fair, non-discriminatory and support equality of opportunity. Officers and members of police staff provide this information voluntarily."

As yet we have no reports that the Jedis are using mind tricks, light sabres or tie fighters to keep the citizens of Strathclyde in order.
