- What does your new role involve?
I will be responsible for creating, implementing and driving forward LG's people strategy. The means raising the quality of LG's HR service and delivery. In particular, I will look at strengthening the high performance culture, attracting the industry's top talent, and building programmes to enhance LG's capabilities across all areas of the business.
- What attracted you to the role?
LG is a forward-thinking company with a great people vision and one of the strongest and most visible consumer electronics brands in the UK and globally. I am really excited about being part of driving this brand forward by ensuring staff are engaged and effective, so LG is seen as one of the top companies to work for.
- What skills and experience do you bring?
I joined LG from Rockwell Automation where I held the position of HR director for north EMEA. Prior to that I ran my own strategy consultancy after gaining a wealth of experience from 24 years at Siemens, located in China, the US, Belgium, Germany and the UK.
- What's the greatest challenge over the next year?
We can't ignore the current economic climate, but it's important to look ahead at the green shoots of recovery. An organisation's competitive advantage is its people and the retention and development of employees should be high on every business's agenda - HR has the opportunity to cement its role in business.
- What do you do to unwind?
I enjoy the odd round of golf and a bit of gardening at the weekends.
