Jo Daubney becomes director of HR at Young's Seafood

Jo Daubney has joined Young's Seafood as its director of human resources. She was previously Western Europe HR manager at BSN Medical.

- What does your new role involve?

Young's Seafood employs around 2,500 people, the majority of whom are based in Grimsby with the remainder spread across its other UK sites.It has a turnover in excess of £300 million. I will be responsible for driving employee engagement and ensuring Young's continues to attract the strong candidates it needs to fuel its growing business.

- What attracted you to the role?

The brand and the executive team. I met a number of executives as part of the selection process and their passion for the company excited me.

- What skills and experience do you bring?

I have worked in both HR generalist and project roles so I have a lot of change management experience. In my previous company I was exposed to lots of challenges including mergers and acquisitions, SAP projects, European infrastructure design as well as undertaking a commercial management role. This has given me a great variety of experience and knowledge to bring to my new role.

- What's the greatest challenge over the next 12 months?

To ensure the HR function contributes fully to the profitability of the company by maximising resources and minimising costs.

- What do you do to unwind?

I like to travel to Italy when I can but normally I have a glass of red wine and think about it.
