New talent development programme introduced at McCann Manchester

McCann Manchester McCann Manchester has unveiled its new talent development programme designed to help recruit, retain and develop talent across all areas of the agency.

The programme, branded Talent Tree, is an integral part of McCann’s growth strategy and is aimed at attracting fresh new talent alongside nurturing existing talent within the agency. It comes less than two weeks after the company recruited Darren Minshall as people director.

A range of Talent Tree initiatives are to be introduced including an agency apprenticeship scheme, graduate recruitment scheme, inspiration sessions and a number of employee engagement programmes.

The programme will initially focus on digital development and attracting talent to all areas of the agency before broadening its remit over time.

Darren Minshall, people director (pictured in the centre), said: "Talent Tree is a people and talent strategy with the simple aim to get the best and grow the best. There will be a renewed focus on our employer brand and the ways in which we engage and develop internal and external talent".

Chief executive Sue Little added: "The landscape is changing and McCann Manchester will be leading the way with innovative ways of attracting and developing the best talent within the industry."

"We have ambitious growth plans for 2011 and beyond and our talent programme is central to this. At a time when digital growth is radically changing the marketing landscape it is vitally important that we can attract top talent.

"With national and international clients including the likes of Aldi, London 2012, American Airlines and InterContinental Hotels, we are competing nationally and internationally to bring leading specialists to the North West and Talent Tree is a central component of our strategy."
