McCann Manchester adds a graduate recruitment programme to its Talent Tree initiative

McCann Manchester is launching a graduate recruitment programme as part of its continuing Talent Tree people development strategy.

The graduate programme - called McCann Freshers - will provide graduates with insight into a range of core disciplines and take the all-important first step into a career in marketing services.

This rolling three-month programme will take on four graduates per quarter, starting in October 2010. Each graduate will be paid and will spend one month in each of three specialist areas. They will then be asked to deliver a final presentation and could potentially secure a permanent position at the end of their placement.

The move is part of McCann Manchester’s newly launched Talent Tree initiative to recruit, retain and develop talent across all areas of the agency and comes less than a month after the agency hired Darren Minshall as people director.

Darren Minshall, people director at McCann Manchester, said: "This is a really great opportunity for those interested in marketing communications to gain some practical experience of life in an agency.

"It will allow them to make an informed decision about the career path most suited to them – and give them the chance to persuade us to make them an offer.

"As an agency, ensuring we have fresh talent entering the business is of vital importance especially in the area of digital where the ever-changing landscape means a new perspective is vital."
