Minella will join the defence, security and aerospace company on 11 June and will be a member of the executive committee. She will be based in London.
Minella joins BAE Systems from Air Products & Chemicals in Allentown, Pennsylvania, US, where she had been senior vice president of human resources and communications.
She spent 22 years at technology giant, IBM, where she held a number of positions, which culminated in leading the HR function for the company's software, technology, and global services for the Americas groups.
