G4S HRD Valerie Dale joins Securitas

G4S HR director Valerie Dale has left the company to take up the same role at rival company Securitas.

Dale has been an HR professional for more than 20 years, with six of those spent in the security sector. She is also the vice-chair of the British Security Industry Association (BSIA) HR committee.

Her first HR director role was with G4S, where she worked for almost seven years. Before that she was head of HR at Initial Facilities Services, an industrial waste management company.

She told HR magazine she is happy to stay in the security industry where she "cut her teeth" in HR leadership. She added that the people she met at Securitas gave her a positive impression of the company.

"First I met Brian [Riis Nielsen, country president] who has an excellent record with the company. Then I met a few others and was impressed with the set-up," she said.

She cites her main aims in her new role as managing the "people, systems and processes" to drive the business forward.

"A lot of it is about putting the right people in the right places," she said. "At Securitas there's a culture of empowerment and I want to help deliver within that."

Riis Nielsen said he was pleased that Dale has joined the company and that she will be a "key service provider" at Securitas.

"Along with her team, she will consistently support the business to attract, retain, motivate and develop our people to achieve their maximum potential and provide an exceptional service to our customers," he said.
