Duerr's awards all staff NVQ as part of Train to Gain scheme

Duerr's, the jam and spreads company, has awarded all its staff with an NVQ level 2 in Performing Manufacturing Operations as part of the Government's Train to Gain scheme.

The company put 120 employees at its Manchester factory through on-the-job training and assessment and plans to roll out the NVQs to all new joiners as part of the induction scheme.

The training was funded by the Government in a bid to improve the skills of employees and enhance business performance.

Kim Bradley, health and safety manager at Duerr's said: "We are proud of everyone who is graduating. Some of those working with us joined with little or no qualifications and the Train to Gain scheme has given them their first qualification along with the confidence to do a better job."
