Dorchester Collection claims HR Excellence Gold Award

Global hotel chain the Dorchester Collection walked away with four awards at the HR Excellence Awards last night, including the prestigious Gold Award.

In a ceremony held at the Park Lane Hilton in London, the company's VP of people and OD Eugenio Pirri also triumphed in the HR director of the year category.

It was one of the most competitive awards of the night, with Pirri coming out on top against HR leaders from L'Oréal and Fujitsu, among others.

Pirri told HR magazine he was "honoured" to be recognised personally, as well as for being part of an award-winning team.

"It's unbelievable, I'm so proud of my team," he said. "They always try to get involved in lots of areas of HR, giving us a wider perspective on the business. Our business is all about HR."

The Dorchester Collection also won the best HR team and outstanding employee engagement strategy awards.

The panel of judges, consisting of top HR directors across all sectors, praised the organisation for combining employee engagement with customer service, ultimately improving the bottom line.
