The Manifesto for a Better Managed Britain from the CMI, due to be published in November will call on Government, employers and managers to pledge their commitment to improving management and leadership standards.
The manifesto, which is currently still in consultation stages, will argue better management is needed to meet economic, social and political challenges, and will set out key actions for employers to develop professional managers and leaders.
CMI chief executive Ruth Spellman said: "If we are to achieve management and leadership excellence, we need the Government to recognise management and leadership as a national priority. We need employers to create a climate in which managers can achieve excellence, and we need individuals to take responsibility for their professional development and behaviour and set an example throughout their working lives.
"Our manifesto calls for change, and sets out clear and achievable goals. We are asking for all managers and leaders to give us their feedback on the manifesto."
