The organisation has upgraded its fleet from 40 transit vans to a variety of 76 vans and small and medium cars.
A vehicle tracker system allows the fleet to be monitored continually and the vehicles emit 50% less nitrogen oxide and 40% less particulates than previously.
CDHT's driving at work policy means that all fleet drivers must complete a risk assessment prior to be given permission to drive. Monthly driving newsletters will then be provided to drivers to follow this up.
Ian Shaw, supply chain and partnership officer at CDHT, said: "The success of the new fleet is due to the extensive consultation carried out with our staff. It will greatly benefit our customers too, as each vehicle is selected to support our drivers in their many roles."
Chester and District focus on fleet safety
Chester and District Housing Trust (CDHT) has doubled its fleet and introduced a scheme to identify and manage driving risks.
