Novo Nordisk opts for 'green' fleet of cars as part of sustainability drive

Novo Nordisk has taken on a fleet of 99 low-carbon BMW 3-series company cars.

The diabetes healthcare company chose the fleet as part of a green initiative as none of the cars emit more than 123g/kg of CO2 and use 28% less fuel than the average company car sold in the UK last year.

Nick Bailey, operations and finance director of Novo Nordisk UK, said: "Sustainability is an integral part of Novo Nordisk's strategy and we strive to be economically viable, socially responsible and environmentally sound in everything we do."

And Neil Britland, facilities and sourcing manager at the organisation, added: "The environmental strategy of Novo Nordisk has identified climate change as a key long-term environmental challenge and as such our strategy incorporates a target to reduce our CO2 emissions.

"While the cars delivered today are silver, black, grey or blue, the important thing from our perspective is that they are all ‘green' under the paintwork."

The fleet was provided by leasing company Alphabet.
