Alcatel-Lucent launches global performance management system to 70,000 staff

Telecommunications giant Alcatel-Lucent has launched a talent management and development programme for 70,000 staff across the globe.

Working with talent management consultancy Taleo, the company plans to will focus its development activities to directly align to its performance management process and leverage talent intelligence to effectively know its people and grow the business.

Identifying, measuring and filling skill gaps are key factors for maximizing innovation, and stimulating growth in the competitive high tech marketplace at an optimal cost. Alcatel-Lucent thrives on excellence and views highly skilled talent as a competitive differentiator.

Laurent Geoffroy, VP HR systems, process and information at Alcatel-Lucent, said: "We performed an extensive review of the performance management market and were impressed by Taleo Performance. Our pilot project to test the solution also proved to be very successful. Talent Intelligence gives us a very powerful strategic platform for the management of talent at Alcatel-Lucent."

Taleo Analytics will provide Alcatel-Lucent with the ability to quantify the skills and competencies available or not available within the company to support their growth goals. It will also help measure the impact of learning programs and how they improve the skills and performance of its workforce.
