Air Canada has introduced a new managed payroll service for its UK support staff

Following implementation, which will begin this autumn, the new service will streamline the airline's payroll process and help to improve efficiency.

Air Canada has moved from a previous NorthgateArinso legacy solution and 1,400 payees (including pensioners) will be on the new payroll service.

Air Canada will benefit from features such an online reporting facility, allowing easy access to vital information. This will contribute to greater effectiveness as well as taking away the risks associated with one person in the organisation holding all the information, leaving the airline more confident about business continuity.

Steve Ruby, head of personnel at Air Canada in the UK, said: "Following a significant review of the technology we use to remunerate our UK support team, we found improvements could be made.

"We realised we could create efficiencies within our back-office teams and decided it was time to improve our payroll technology and services."
