According to accountancy firm PwC, sick days are costing UK employers around £29 billion a year, with it now accounting for nearly 90% of a company’s absence bill.

The Royal Mail has announced 1,600 workers are to lose their jobs in cost-saving measures. Talks with its unions, Unite and the Communication Workers Union (CWU), start today.
