Steve Peters, undergraduate dean, Sheffield Medical School and CEO, Chimp Management

Professor Steve Peters is a consultant psychiatrist working in business, education, health and elite and Olympic sport. His specialist interest is in the working of the human mind and how it can reach optimum performance in all walks of life.

Steve Peters’ academic work base is with Sheffield Medical School as undergraduate dean. He is a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists and is on its examinations panel, and is a member of UK Sport’s Therapeutic Use Exemption Panel.

Peters wrote the bestselling mind management book The Chimp Paradox: The Mind Management Program to Help You Achieve Success, Confidence, and Happiness and created ‘The Chimp Model’.

He is consultant to the British Cycling Team, Sky ProCycling, Liverpool Football Club and UK Athletics. He has current and past involvement in other sports, including taekwondo, canoeing, snooker and rugby.
