HRMI 2021: Alan Watkins, CEO & Founder, Complete

Alan is recognised as a global thought leader on human performance, complexity and well-being. As CEO of Complete, he helps leaders, teams, and organisations unlock their capability and performance, through scientific means.

He has a broad mix of commercial, academic, scientific, and technological abilities and is one of the few coaches in the UK to have won an Oscar, well an industry Oscar or EVCOM to be precise, for best animated short film in 2016. Drawing on his background as a physician and neuroscientist he integrates many lines of development and advances from multiple scientific fields.

Prior to being the CEO of Complete, a data-driven leadership development consultancy, Alan worked as a physician for 11 years in the health care system in the USA, UK, and Australia. He has published a wide variety of scientific papers in peer reviewed journals, written many book chapters and wrote his first book, Mind Body Medicine, in 1997.

Over the last 22 years Alan has been a coach and confidant to many of Europe’s top leaders. He integrates a deep understanding of human consciousness, psychology and neurophysiology with his commercial acumen. This makes him an insightful, challenging developmental coach. In his spare time, he writes books on leadership and how to solve the world’s toughest problems. He has published an additional seven books with two more due later this year.

With over 6.2 million views, Alan is well known for his TEDx lectures.
