Raj Verma, global SVP human resources, Sodexo

Verma joined Sodexo UK and Ireland in 2007 as an HR director. Following several international roles, including time living and working in Australia, he was appointed as senior vice president, human resources for Sodexo Corporate Services worldwide.

With more than 170,000 employees globally this is the largest division of Sodexo. Verma is passionate about understanding the changing workplace and the global trends that affect it. Enhancing the employee experience, leveraging workplace intelligence, innovating through digital transformation, and engaging multi-generational talent where a sense of belonging and inclusion makes a real difference are HR enablers for growth that he is strategically driving with his team.

Prior to joining Sodexo Verma was a member of the HR leadership for Santander Bank UK. His early career started in general management, before moving to Ford Motor Company where he worked in both specialist and generalist HR roles across different brands and geographies.

Verma graduated in law from the University of London, has an MBA from Warwick Business School and is a fellow of the CIPD. In 2019 he was privileged to have again been listed by EMpower as a top 100 BAME executive leader. As alumnus of Warwick University he sits on the business school’s steering committee for its global mentoring programme. Most recently he was appointed onto the board of a national charity.

He lives in Warwick and is married, with two teenage children.
