- What does your new role involve?
I will be working with other operational directors to ensure that Operon is providing a well-motivated workforce.
- What attracted you to the role?
Operon is an ambitious company, with a healthy mix of private and public contracts. This is a truly generalist HR role with scope to be creative and innovative. The market is diverse, therefore new approaches to HR are required.
- What skills and experience do you bring?
Over 20 years' experience in fast-paced client-focused work environments; an ability to translate HR practices to the operational field and gain commitment from the line; and an understanding that HR is integral in business development.
- What's the greatest challenge you will have over the next 12 months?
Operon regularly engages in TUPE transfers as they successfully win new contracts. These present an abundance of issues. The challenge is to set up a smoother process of integration into the business. In addition, there is a growing burden placed by the public sector in monitoring and tracking employee information and in the implementation of ever-increasing employee rights.
- What do you do to unwind?
I enjoy fell walking with my two dogs. Work becomes a distant memory when battling with the elements on a cold, wet evening.
