Mamas & Papas introduces online recruitment and talent management system to save time and money

Mamas & Papas has taken recruitment in-house and launched an online recruitment and talent management software solution to save costs and time when hiring new employees.

The company, which sells nursery furniture, baby products and maternity clothes, is working with Bond International Software to implement the technology. It is hoped the online recruitment system will allow the firm to track applicants more effectively and create talent pools, while maintaining a personal approach to recruitment.

The company, which employs 1,300 staff across 38 stores, is planning for continuous global expansion and needed recruitment tool to ensure it had top-quality staff. It is hoped the technology will remove a large proportion of administration time, allowing staff to concentrate on developmental tasks.

Karl Brown, HR director at Mamas & Papas, said: "Previously we had a strong agency- biased recruitment background but decided to take our recruitment in-house. We required a package that would supplement our internal skills and streamline the recruitment process while proving cost-effective. The company needed something that could automate processes yet integrate with our brand to allow us to continue giving the personal touch, improving the overall candidate experience.

"Owing to the present climate, most companies are not investing in headcount increases. We have noticed the pace is picking up though not at the levels seen previously. Due to this and in order to meet our growth demands we believe more than ever that it is a good time to be implementing new systems while we have the capacity to do so, to be able to cope in more hectic times."
