London Olympics is proving good for job creation

<p>British business is booming as increasing numbers of employment opportunities are created due to the 2012 London Olympics, according to research from Adecco. </p><p>It found that of all the work done so far by the Olympics Delivery Authority (ODA), 98% has been carried out by UK companies, and half by firms outside London. </p><p>Results show 15% of businesses are working for the ODA in some capacity, with a further 15% predicting they will be involved at some point. Half of companies believe they will benefit from the Olympics in some way. </p><p> The 2012 Olympics will be an exciting time for the UK, creating a number of diverse job opportunities, says Adeccos group UK & Ireland CEO Rene Schuster. The Olympics should hopefully encourage a resurgence in trades where the skills deficit has been quite large in the UK and encourage more apprenticeships and vocational training schemes." </p><p>In 2007 an 11million package to provide training and jobs ahead of the 2012 Olympics was announced by the then mayor of London, Ken Livingstone. </p>
