This is according to a Nottingham University Business School study that surveyed 15,000 people. Women, ethnic minorities, temporary staff, disabled workers and older individuals were all found to be at a disadvantage when it comes to training in IiP- accredited workplaces.
In order to gain accreditation, firms are supposed to meet the requirements of the equal opportunities standard.
“This research raises questions as to how organisations are able to secure recognition despite failing to adhere to one of IiP’s key requirements,” says the author of the research, Kim Hoque, professor at Nottingham University Business School.
