HR magazine partners with Menopause Friendly Employer Awards

HR magazine is proud to reinforce its commitment to employee wellbeing by partnering with the Menopause Friendly Employer Awards.

Returning for their second year on 14 September at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, London, the industry-recognised awards celebrate best practice among organisations and individuals committed to changing and improving the lived experience of menopause in the workplace.

The awards are organised by the Menopause Friendly Accreditation and are open to all Menopause Friendly Member employers.

Deborah Garlick, CEO of Henpicked: Menopause in the Workplace, said the awards offer an opportunity for like-minded employers to come together.

She said: “I am keen to stress the importance of the evening, not only as a wonderful celebration of the work and progress which is being undertaken across the UK, but as a coming together of employers who are changing and improving the perception and reality of menopause in the workplace.”

This year's awards will once again be hosted by broadcaster and menopause advocate Louise Minchin.

Last year’s event raised £75,000 for menopause charities and research, with hopes the 2023 event can help double this total.

Entries for the 12 awards will open on 21 May and close on 21 July, with the shortlist revealed in August.

All entries will be judged by an independent panel working to a set of clearly defined criteria.

Jo Gallacher, editor of HR magazine, says it is vital events like these shine a light on important issues in the workplace.

She said: “I’m delighted HR magazine is partnering with the Menopause Friendly Employer Awards. Employers should be applauded for creating an environment where menopause is no longer a taboo, but there’s much more that can be done.

“Events such as these help to celebrate the fantastic work being done in this area and we are proud to lend our support.”
