Hollyoaks' production company launches volunteering scheme for employees

The stars of Hollyoaks have launched a new volunteering scheme today for the soap’s production house, Lime Pictures, which will allow them to volunteer their time to local charity and community work.

Lime Pictures, the home of Hollyoaks, The Only Way Is Essex and the House of Anubis for Nickelodeon, has signed up to LeapCR, a web-based social software platform that manages community and social activities within a company.

Hollyoaks stars and Lime Pictures MD, Sean Marley, launched the LeapCR platform at the Hollyoaks studios to enable all staff to be part of Lime Pictures' ongoing commitment to programmes that benefit the local community.

Marley said: "Our Hollyoaks cast members already generously give up their spare time to support local charities. This enthusiasm to give something back to the local community has always been shared by crew, support and back office staff based at our Liverpool studio. Now they can all be part of this, as LeapCR's online platform will make it easy for them to donate their time and skills to charity work in the local community - and have fun at the same time."

Malcolm Scovil, CEO of LeapCR, added: "There are no barriers to who can donate their time and skills - any company, regardless of size or sector, has staff with valuable skills to share. These guys have incredibly hectic filming schedules, yet have embraced social media technology to help them improve their business, whilst doing good and having fun."

Using the LeapCR platform, Lime Pictures employees based at the HQ in Liverpool can view and arrange volunteering opportunities at locally based charities and interact with each other to arrange group activities. An additional advantage for Lime Pictures is the platform's reporting tool which tracks and records their employees' charitable work.
