Formerly chief HR officer at news and financial information conglomerate Thomson Reuters, Dando will join Bain Capital in January 2013 and will be based in both Boston and London.
His focus will be on improving capabilities and performance in assessing, hiring, training and developing the company's most senior portfolio executives (CEOs, CFOs, COOs). He will also support teams as they work on the broader objective of building high performance organisations.
This is consistent with one of Bain's blueprint priorities, which is to add a small number of senior executives to the group who bring deep expertise in talent, IT and growth.
Dando has significant experience and expertise in senior executive talent management. At Thomson Reuters, he was responsible for the integration of those two organisations.
Prior to Thomson Reuters he was HR director at the BBC and before that held numerous senior roles at Diageo, latterly as global HRD, Guinness. He is involved in a number of HR industry associations as well as being a member of Engage For Success, a UK Government sponsored task-force on Employee engagement.
