Prior to this he was director, BBC People and a member of the organisation's executive board and a director of its Pension Trust.
During his time at Guinness and Diageo Dando held numerous HR roles, including Europe HRD for United Distillers & Vintners, group management development director at Diageo and global HRD for Guinness. His earlier career included manufacturing HR experience at Austin Rover and Ferranti.
Dando is married with two children (James, 22 and Katie, 16) and lives in London.
