Deninson joins the public and regulated service provider from Redpoint Associates, where he was a director. He replaces Valerie Hughes-D'Aeth, who joined the BBC in August.
Prior to Redpoint, Deninson held posts as HR director at Carlsberg and Chesapeake Corporation. He has been an HR professional since 1986 when he took a role as HR officer at Pilkington.
Joining a company that "so clearly values its employees" was a draw, Deninson said.

Amey chief executive Mel Ewell welcomed the appointment at a time when "we continue to pursue our growth aspirations".
