Chris Grayling is the new pensions minister

Chris Grayling has been appointed pensions minister in the coalition Government.

On the appointment, Ian Bell, Baker Tilly's head of pensions, said: "Hundreds of delegates from our conference expressed grave concerns at the NEST proposals. The new minister should revisit them as a matter of urgency and will need to get up to speed quickly. Given the need for quick action, it does seem such a shame that Nigel Waterson was not returned having spent so long shadowing pensions ministers, building experience and outlasting several of his Labour counterparts."
