Bank of America Europe Card Services receives accreditiation for skills strategy

Bank of America Europe Card Services has become the first UK credit card lender to receive accreditation from the National Skills Academy for Financial Services for the in-house training it offers to employees.

Developed by the Skills Academy, the accreditation acknowledges employers who offer excellent training opportunities to their staff.

Karen Gresty (pictured), head of learning for Bank of America Europe Card Services which operates the MBNA brand in the UK, said: "We are continually looking at new ways to enhance the learning experience and professional development of our employees. Our workforce is the greatest asset we have and this accreditation by the Skills Academy reinforces our commitment to providing them with the best available education in support of their employability both internally and externally."

The Skills Academy accreditation is awarded after an assessment of five key areas - leadership; people; resources; products & services and benefits of training. Bank of America Europe Card Services demonstrated high standards across all of the categories.

Sylvia Perrins, CEO, National Skills Academy for Financial Services, said: "Bank of America Europe Card Services has distinguished itself as the first credit card lender in the UK to receive the accreditation for its training, confirming its dedication to educate and instil professionalism in its workforce. Since the accreditation was launched last year, the Skills Academy has awarded financial services accreditation to six other UK firms.

The Skills Academy also offers an accreditation scheme for training providers which allows employers and training providers to work to the same high standard.
