Argos partners with Tui UK to place summer holiday staff in its stores for the Christmas period

Argos has launched its annual Christmas recruitment campaign to employ 12,000 festive staff to work in its stores.

This year Argos will be working with Tui UK, and Job Centre Plus as part of the recruitment drive.

Approximately 500 summer seasonal workers with the travel company will be invited to apply for roles at Argos for the winter season in a partnership first for both companies. Additionally, the retailer will support the Government's 'Get Britain Working' campaign by encouraging stores to work with their local Job Centres to fill vacancies and will advertise with the centres nationally.

With 90% of the population living less than ten minutes from one of the 750 Argos stores the new roles will be accessible nationwide.

Along with flexible working hours, training and competitive pay, new recruits will get an immediate 10% staff discount, helping to ease the pinch on their own shopping costs.

Terry Duddy, Argos MD says: "Argos is a fun, interesting and busy place to be over Christmas so we are excited about finding passionate and enthusiastic staff that can join the team.

"With over 70 million customers passing through our doors over the period, the new recruits will really help us deliver great customer service this Christmas."

The 12,000 available roles matches last year's figure and are equally split across the country with approximately 4,000 vacancies available in the Central, Northern and Southern regions of the UK.
