Like many companies these days, the 'business' was dwindling. That was the problem for the Carmelite nuns at the convent in Ecija, near Seville in Spain. As their numbers fell, they faced closing after 400 years.
Then they discovered the new world 'religion' of YouTube. Now everyone can experience life in the 14th century palace-turned-convent in bite-sized video clips. Everything from morning prayers to baking cakes, all interspersed with spiritual messages about living as a 'Carmelita'. Apparently, the Mother Superior has been inundated with enquiries.
